History of education Essay

As a student, I have read â€Å"On the Use of a Liberal Education: As Lite Entertainment for Bored College Students† written by Mark Edmundson many times. Edmundson’s article is now published in textbook (for example: from Inquiry to Academic writing) and taught in English university education. Edmundson argues that nowadays liberal education is as lite entertainment for bored college students; education is product and universities are suppliers that satisfy the expectation of consumer students. In any aspect, I agree with him. The education now is changing in bad way. The students do no longer care about what they need to learn in the school except for their point. But why does this happen? This article just show one side of students. What about teacher? School? Family? Or society? Generally, there are some points I consider make me not believe or agree with this article absolutely. First, he wrote this article after many-year teaching. This is based on his be-teacher experience. He is in the point of view of teacher. But despite teaching many years, how many student he taught? What percentage in the total number of students in USA or the world does it hold? It is unfair and unbelievable when he draws the conclusion about all students with only students he has taught. Maybe he is right but he is also possible to be wrong. Because that number of student may be very high, maybe hold 70%, 80%, even 90% but also just 20%. There are no researches given in the article. No one knows the exact number so can’t give that conclusion. But the only thing we can believe is that many is not total; that many students are as consumers. Secondly, he says education is as lite entertainment for bored students. What is meant by bored students? How bored? A teacher comments that students are bored so what did he/she do to improve them. I know learning is responsibility of own student but school or teacher is instructor leading them to what they need to explore themselves. They now are just in the wrong way, so it doesn’t mean they will be so forever. They now need a person to lead them in the right way. Besides, he just shows their present that they are bored but not shows the reasons. Why doesn’t he/she ask the question about himself, about his lessons. To each student, their ability to take lessons is very different so with a lesson, just some student feel interested. In his essay, Edmundson claim that most student today consume their education than interact with it. He says he wanted his student connect with him, but it doesn’t mean they have to like or dislike him. He says that â€Å" I don’t teach to amuse, to divert, or even, for that matter, to be merely interesting. He also says â€Å" I think many of my student have imbibed their sense of self from consumer culture and in general from the tube in particular†. That not only shows his lack of native passion of a teacher but also that he become accept education’s business. Next, when he assume that teacher do anything to make them satisfied, interested, I wonder just only students feel that. That time, did teachers feel satisfied? The answer is, of course, YES. Both teachers and students feel comfortable and facile. So why don’t make lesson colorful, instead, boring and not effective. Each teacher has different ways of teaching to help students understand lessons. One of them is that make it interesting. That means both create interesting atmosphere and help student easy to understand. Students are young people, no experience; they just learn what they care. If schooling is bored, they can’t both study and find the right way to go in the future. But if the school is an interesting thing that they take everyday, they feel life to open, to explore and persue. The second view is clearly better that the first and why does he consider all such lesson as product standard for consumer students. The last thing I wonder is the reason why education is changing. Nowadays, society is developing with high technology and opening economy. Society requires people that are excellent or really good. How does society realize such people? In general, it is evaluated based on the point of student at school. So, that students are always care about their point because they are worried about their future is grossly. Moreover, education system always evaluate their performance and achievement. Because of that, they always worry that they can lose, they can in the bottom at school and hope they are in the top. Some can make effort to reach it, but not all is the same. To some student, it is motive power to be better themselves but to the rest, it is pressure make them in stress. Besides, not all teachers is good. Some requires presents and they â€Å"sell the mark†. To students, this is a good way to improve their mark not trying to study. That is small gap in education system. In the end, Edmundson’s article is not researched and have a few logical fallacies but warn us the status of education as product. Although there are something I disagree with him, evidence of his argument is not denied; it is difficult for anyone to argue that consumerism has not poured in the university to some degree. [That is my personal point of view. Maybe it is not right absolutely. ]

Meaning of life, Life Essay

Suffering is an inevitable part of life. We all live in this big labyrinth of suffering. Th only way out of the labyrinth is death. † To live is to suffer, to survive to find meaning in the suffering. Few peopl e actually commit suicide to liberate themselves form suffering. Most people find meaning or purpo se for their life so that they have the motivation to live on. Some think that suffering make them wis er, some think that suffering is a test of faith, there will be rewards for them in the after life if they c an endure the suffering on earth. Some people couldn’t understand but keep going on with their life for their loved ones. Some people keep themselves busy to dodge from the question. My view on this question is that suffering does not make life any more or any less meaningful. Beca use as an atheist, I believe that there is no God, the Universe does not have a divine plan for us. Tha t the existence of life is just purely a miraculous accident. When we die, we stop existing. The time we spend on Earth will not amount to anything in an afterlife in another dimension. Therefore, life i s inherently meaningless, with or without pain and suffering. Human are powerless in the face of m eaninglessness . The only way we can deal with life is to embrace the fact that there is no intrinsic va lue in life. We can only create our own meanings. One can create meaning of life with or without su ffering. But since suffering is an inseparable part of our life, it more or less give us insights on mean ing of life. Dr. Bernard Rieux can best exemplifies my point of view. When the plague got out of control and O ran was placed under quarantine, it didn’t stop the doctor form battling the plague, fighting the war t hat was doomed to fail. At this point, many would wonder what is meaning of of the doctor’s action s when they are all in vain. The answer can be found in a dialogue he shared with Tarrou. Tarrou asked the doctor why he was so committed to fighting the plague if he does not believe in G od. The doctor replied that whether or not God exist is irrelevant and he didn’t have the time to thin k about what waits him in the future and what will come out of his actions. The only thing he knew that there were sick people suffering and they needed to be cured. Even though he admitted that his struggles against death would only be temporary victories and that the plague was what he referred as an†endless struggle†, he said that this was not the reason to give up struggle. From the dialogue, we can see the doctor was aware of the intrinsic meaninglessness of his life, bec ause he said he wouldn’t waste time to think about the existence of God and what his action will lea d to him. If he deemed his life has inherent meaning, he should have thought about the above questi ons. Thought he considered that his life is inherently meaningless, the plague gave me the meaning. The meaning lies in the other people. The doctor was fully aware that his attempts at lifting people out of misery is an impossible task as more and more people became infected and die. And there were no effective cure. Basically, his sitti ng around and doing nothing or wearing himself off to save the patients might just possibly lead to s ame outcome. However, the doctor did not stop his work in face of his powerlessness to alter the situation. Becaus e under this situation, he was left with only two choices, ignore it or act on it. There was no third op tion. The doctor chose the later one because he couldn’t bear to see people suffer and doing nothing about it. It’s meaningless to battle the unwindable battle against the plague. It was not defeating the plague that gave meaning to the doctor. It was the people gave him meaning. It was his compassion for others that keep him going in times of suffering. From the case of Dr. Rieux and his battle against the plague, we can see similarities in the real worl d. The plague is like the amoral universe, and Dr. Rieux represents all the human beings. We are po werless in face of the meaningless of life, just as Dr. Rieux was powerless in face of the plague. But we do have a choice, we can create meanings for ourselves just as Dr. Rieux has learnt from sufferin g and found meanings in helping people. Winston Smith from 1974 1984 somewhat share some similarities with Dr. Rieux in terms of action upon the unchangeable, though he was not such a noble and heroic person as Dr. Rieux. In his case, the unchangeable was the Big Brother. Winston Smith lived in a state where every moves, every wo rds ands every thoughts he made were monitored by the Party. In the instance of living in an extrem e state where even having disloyal thought against the party is in violation of law. The meaning of li fe for Smith was not to start a revolution and topple the party, and change the system entirely. Thou gh Smith had thought about it and desired it to happen. Deep down he believed that it was impossibl e to achieve the goal and sooner or later he would be arrested by the Party. Nevertheless, he set out t o challenge the limits of the Party. He kept a diary which has† Down with the Big Brother† written o n it over and over again. He had an forbidden affair with Julia. Also he joined the Brotherhood whic h he believe is the enemy of the Party. I think the meaning for Smith did not lie in being the hero. What was important for him was to stay as human as possible. Through the rebellious acts against the Party in his own ways, he got to keep his spirit and his human side. That was the meaning he could find for himself. Despite the fact that he was completely compromised at last when he was brought into Room 101, where he was tortured to an extreme degree and indoctrinated to cure his â€Å"insaneness†. He was com pletely broke and dehumanised. His passionate hatred towards the Big Brother turned into absolute l oyalty and love. He should not be blamed for betraying Julia and not upholding what he believed in the first place in such extreme conditions. After all, he did try to rebel against the Big Brother even t hough deep down he knew he couldn’t do anything to overthrow the Big Brother. Dr. Rieux and Winston Smith resolved the question of meaning through their rebellious acts against the plague and the Big Brother. There are people who find suffering itself reveals the meaning of lif e. Father Paneloux is a good example to illustrate this point of view. In his first sermon addressing t he plague. He said that the plague was a punishment by God. That it was the result of the sin of all c itizens. He criticised the people for not attending church and repenting for their sins. Therefore the p lague was reminder of God’s power and the Oran residents should start to change their habits and st art to fear God again. Unlike Dr. Rieux, who is an atheist, Father Paneloux based his life and work on his christian faith. F rom a Christian point of view, everything happens on earth has purpose and fit into the grand plan o f God. Therefore, it was his job to make sense of the suffering of the plague so that he and the peopl e listening to him will be able to endure and continue to believe in God. From his interpretation of s uffering, the meaning of life for Father Panels was more easily understood than Dr. Rieux and Winst on Smith. The meaning of life was really simple, that is to serve and honour God in his will. Though he changes his view on suffering drastically after witnessing the death of an innocent child. He did not view suffering as a punishment anymore. He said that the reason why a innocent child sh ould suffer was not something that human would necessarily understand no matter how hard they tri ed. They just had to keep in mind that it was God’s will. One must keep his faith and God and find t he good in bad situation. In spite of a changing tone, the meaning for Father Paneloux remained the same- to serve God. To conclude, life itself is inherently meaningless. Not even religion can provide an universal answer to the meaning of life. There are no answers for that and never will be. Suffering does not make one’ s life meaningful. But through suffering one might find meanings in life and live a meaningful life. These are made of metal that conduct heat rapidly thus absorbing heat from the hot surface and the fan on it cools it thus allowing it to keep absorbing more heat. SOFTWARE * Operating System: It is also known as the platform or the environment in which different programmes or applications will run. All applications and programmes are developed for different platforms depending upon what the user is most likely to use. The most common operating systems are: o WINDOWS: This is developed by Microsoft. It controls most of the PC market in the world. o UNIX / LINUX: UNIX has mostly been used as client-server operating system meaning it is used for networking. Another system developed recently called Linux has mainly been used as a server operating system. Linux is commonly used as an operating system for supercomputers. As of June 2007, out of the top 500 systems, 389 (77.8%) run Linux. * Utilities: These are programmes that we use in order to either diagnose or identify and fix problems in the computer. The problems could be a result of either file corruption or it being located at an address field in the memory that has become faulty. The utilities can move the data to a new location and mark the faulty address location as a bad sector thus avoiding any future writing of data at that sector. * Virus: A virus is a programme that is designed to act maliciously and make the computer programme to work differently from what it is supposed to do. * Anti-Virus: An anti-virus is a programme that scans the hard-drive and memory area for virus programmes that should not be residing at locations that are crucial and from where they can launch themselves and cause problem. The anti-virus either removes the virus programme but in cases where it cannot remove it without damaging the main programme, then it puts it in quarantine thus making it harmless and containing it in one place. * Multimedia: These are programmes that are associated with audio and video files and as different companies have their own formats, we need different types to run each one separately. To the Lighthouse Essay The novel To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf published in 1927 is a milestone of high modernism and experiments the stream-of-consciousness style. There are three sections in the book and the text revolves around the Ramsay family during their visit to the Isle of Skye in Scotland between 1910 1nd 1920. The fundamental theme of the novel is the universal contradiction of feminine and masculine opinions. The two leading characters in the novel represent the two contradictory themes. Mrs. Ramsey is highly sensitive and emotional in her outlook and she represents female attitude, while Mr. Ramsey is egotistical theorist and represents male attitude with lucid exposition. Both are bound in their restricted boundary and therefore lack impartial, liberal and rational viewpoint. Lily Briscoe, a painter and house guest of the Ramsey, is Woolf’s vision of the genderless artist who typifies the perfect combination of female and male qualities. She successfully completes a painting on which she concentrates from the beginning is symbolical of female and male combination. The first part of the novel, the window, opens with Ramsey’s in their summer house at Hebrides. We see a new day starts with the promise of Mrs. Ramsey to take her son, James to the lighthouse but Mr. Ramsey interrupts and says Mukherjee 2 that the weather will not allow it. Small James feels very angry with his father for scorning his mother. Here the psychological factor â€Å"oedipal complex† propounded by Freud can be recollected. James hates his father while he considers his mother â€Å"ten thousand times better in every way† (chp-1). The relationship of Mr. and Mrs. Ramsey is also emphasized in this section of the novel. They are quite the opposite to each other. Mr. Ramsey is peculiar and unconventional in attitude while Mrs. Ramsey fights at every stage to maintain a congruent atmosphere. We watch the drama as if through a window and can hear their internal thoughts and feelings speak. The most dramatic scene of Mrs. Ramsay’s dinner party is the nucleus of the novel. The party begins with a catastrophe. The guests come late and Mr. Ramsey behaves rudely towards them (chp-xvii). The opening of the chapter shifts from one party goers’ observation to the other. Each is seen to be â€Å"remote† and like Tansley they all feel â€Å"rough and isolated and lonely†. The connection of Lily and Mrs. Ramsey deepens in chapter xvii and she feels she acts in the same way in her mockery with Tansley. She concludes all women even those in conventional position feel the control of tradition. The section of the novel gives the impression of the time passing and the feeling of absence and death. Woolf wrote that her purpose of writing this section was â€Å"an interesting experiment (that gave) the sense of ten years passing. It’s the time when Britain got involved and finished fighting the World War I. A number of changes take place. Mrs. Ramsey passes away, Pru dies in childbirth. Mr. Ramsey is left alone, no one is there to praise and comfort him in times of his frustration when he doubts the long term existence of his philosophical work. The internet showed the websites I needed to go on that had the right information. If I had not used a computer I would have had to carry task out manually, which is very time consuming, for example, Cropping pictures down to the right size to fit the catalogue. Key skill 12 There is so much technical equipment in the ICT rooms, precautions need to be taken, so that nobody gets hurt, when I was in the ICT room, I made sure that drinks and food were not near the computers, so that the equipment would operate in the right order. Also I made sure that bags were not left in the walking areas, so that others would not trip over them and hurt themselves. To prevent fires, fore extinguishers were present in the room and the sockets were not over loaded. Work surfaces remained clear to avoid clutter. Five minutes before the end of every lesson, I saved the work I had done that day to make sure all my work is well documented and so I can continue from where I stopped in the next lesson. The response was a slew of Domestic and external sector policy measures partly prompted by the immediate needs and partly by the demand of the multilateral organisations. The new policy regime radically pushed forward in favour of amore open and market oriented economy. Major measures initiated as a part of the liberalisation and globalisation strategy in the early nineties included scrapping of the industrial licensing regime, reduction in the number of areas reserved for the public sector, amendment of the monopolies and the restrictive trade practices act, start of the privatisation programme, reduction in tariff rates and change over to market determined exchange rates. Over the years there has been a steady liberalisation of the current account transactions, more and more sectors opened up for foreign direct investments and portfolio investments facilitating entry of foreign investors in telecom, roads, ports, airports, insurance and other major sectors. The Indian tariff rates reduced sharply over the decade from a weighted average of 72.5% in 1991-92 to 24.6 in 1996-97.Though tariff rates went up slowly in the late nineties it touched 35.1% in 2001-02. India is committed to reduced tariff rates. Peak tariff rates are to be reduced to be reduced to the minimum with a peak rate of 20%, in another 2 years most non-tariff barriers have been dismantled by march 2002, including almost all quantitative restrictions. Growth rates have slowed down since the country has still bee able to achieve 5-6% growth rate in three of the last six years. Though growth rates has slumped to the lowest level 4.3% in 2002-03 mainly because of the worst droughts in two decades the growth rates are expected to go up close to 70% in 2003-04. This is major improvement given that India is growth rate in the 1970s was very low at 3% and GDP growth in countries like Brazil, Indonesia, Korea, and Mexico was more than twice that of India. Though Indias average annual growth rate almost doubled in the eighties to 5.9% it was still lower than the growth rate in China, Korea and Indonesia. The pick up in GDP growth has helped improve Indias global position. Consequently Indias position in the global economy has improved from the 8th position in 1991 to 4th place in 2001. Samuel Seabury :: essays research papers

Born in Groton, Conn., Samuel Seabury was the son of the Reverend Samuel Seabury Sr. His Father was a pioneer of New England Anglicanism who followed the example of Samuel Johnson. Samuel Jr.,broke away from the Congregationalists and pursued Anglican ordination. He graduated from Yale in 1744 and received his B.A in 1748. He married Abigail Mumford and went abroad in 1784 to obtain consecration as an Anglican Priest. On December 23, 1753, Samuel Seabury was ordained a deacon and two days later a priest of the Anglican Church. He was licensed by the church to preach in New Jersey. He preached in various places, but none suited his fancy. A preacher in Westchester was charged with drunkenness and sexual assault, which opened up the preaching position. Samuel filled the position and preached in an uneventful ministry. He also ran a school in Westchester. As the tensions between Britain and the colonies grew stronger, Samuel stayed loyal to the crown. He viewed the American government as very primitive and dependent on the British government. When talk of the First Continental Congress arose, he began to voice his opinion. He tried to stop the election of the delegates by writing various pamphlets. His attempt proved futile and the delegates were elected and met together on that fateful day in Philadelphia when a new nation was envisioned. Now Samuel began to take more courageous steps in preventing the breaking away of the colonies. He wrote â€Å"Westchester Farmer† ,a compilation of five essays reasoning why the colonies should stay with the English. The five essays were Free Thoughts on the Proceedings of the Congress, The Congress Canvassed, Free Thoughts in the Full Vindication of the Congress, A View of Controversy, The Republican Dissected. Some of the writings were directed towards New Yorkers and local farmers. He beg ged the New York legislature to reject the laws of the â€Å"enthusiastic republicans† and was quoted as saying, †The Congress is in the power of a faction using a mob to carry out its purposes†. The other writings were a rebuttal or defense to Alexander Hamilton’s attack. Hamilton was a student at the time when the pamphlets came out and he wrote The Farmer Refuted, a pamphlet opposing Seabury’s loyalist views. The news spread like wild fire and four of the pamphlets were printed in newspapers across the colonies. Samuel was branded a loyalist right away and this unintentionally made him some enemies.

A strong women

The person I look up to hit rock bottom at one point and was able to become a better person that they didn't know even existed. Seeing them go through all the obstacles showed me how strong of a person they truly are and made me admire them. This person is my mom. My mom was a high school dropout due to having me at a young age (16). She was trying to raise a child and fight an addiction at the same time. Trying to deal with all these different obstacles can be hard on someone; especially when you feel stuck and like you have nowhere else to go, but my mom ound a better path to be on.My mother's name is Jessica, she is 5 feet 10 inches. In her youth she had dirty blonde hair that was so beautiful and long. She was really thick due to how much alcohol she was consuming and alcohol also makes you consume a lot of food. Jessica also had an accent because she's originally from Georgia. My mom started drinking at the age of 13. It was a constant struggle for my mother, she turned to drink ing because she was in a really depressed state of mind because she felt stuck and didn't really know where she belonged. My mom also grew up in kind of a dysfunctional household with an alcoholic father.Her parents got a divorce and that's when my mom really started drinking a lot. My mom would leave home a lot, even sometimes not come home for days at a time. She would leave me there for her younger brother to take care of. This is a rough patch my mom went through in her life before she became the person she is today. Jessica started going to AA which stands for Alcoholics Anonymous at the age of twenty two. I remember my mom taking me to a few meeting and me being scared ecause I really didn't know what was going on because I was such a young age.My mom relapsed after being clean for about half a year on pain medication. She fell and hurt her neck at work and even when her neck got better she continued taking the pain pills because she thought in her mind that she was really sti ll in pain, but that was Just because she was addicted. The second and final time she relapsed was shortly after she stopped taking the pain pills; she started drinking again like crazy. She eventually stopped drinking at the age of twenty four. At this time I had more of n understanding of what was going on and I was really scared for my mom's life.During this time my father took me away from my mom and immediately after she realized I was gone she tried her hardest to clean up. My mom always says â€Å"It was you that really made me clean up; I couldn't deal with myself if I lost my daughter from choosing alcohol over you. † My mom thankfully made it through this obstacle. My mom received her GED at the age twenty five and started to attend school at Diablo Valley College. She attended Diablo Valley for three years then transferred to University of Berkeley and majored in sociology.My mom is currently attending Grad school at Denver State and is going for Social Work. The s ituation I have seen my mom overcome has given me hope. It takes a really strong person to take themselves off the wrong course and put themselves on the right one. My mom is now creating a bright future for herself and she proved to me that no one can stop you but yourself. I will always continue going to meetings with my mom and being a big support system because I am truly proud of her. Going through obstacles like these can really break a person down.My mom is a person who changed her negative into a positive. She used everything that happened to her as motivation to become a better person because she didn't want to continue to be on the same bad course in her life. My mom being an alcoholic of course brought some negative events into my life at a young age, but I was able to get through it because I saw what she was able to overcome. My mom influenced me to basically be a strong individual and to never give up on yourself because if you work hard enough your dreams will come tr ue.

In my opinion, it is very good thing that we, as a society, are positive.There may be many different reasons why some are negative; however, negativity is not good in any way. For example, there are some who do not want to maintain positive relationships or maybe not even know how to form them. No matter how hard they try, they do not have enough knowledge about positive relationships, or they do not know how to proceed with the process of building a positive relationship. We cannot solel y base our knowledge on what our parents will or will not teach us; it is here that is the right place for cultural reinforcement to be positive.However, the reinforcement begins very early. Society is trying to build children’s characteristics and teach what is considered good and what is considered bad. We teach children how to communicate with others, how to make lives better by being good to others, but of course, there are some families and people who do not believe it is important or useful to teach these skills. Because of this, new personalities grow and some do not know how to be nice and cannot live alongside with others peacefully. We can meet such people in the world around us.For example, gangs think that there is nothing positive in the world and therefore make trouble in place of the good. Meanwhile, to build positive relationships we can use situations that happen in schools. We send children to school to educate them, but that is only the formal side of educa tion. The informal side is where you have to learn how to cooperate with others, sometimes even conquer things â€Å"under the sun. † Peers often have conflicts between each other, but in the majority of cases, they do not want to resolve these conflicts.Each child comes from a different background, and they may not have been taught how to coexist with others. Each child has been brought up differently, and some might even say that it is not the right way to raise them because there are different opinions everywhere on how to behave in society. We grow up while we go through the school years. People begin to realize that we have learned different ways to communicate and some have learned more effective methods on how to live more positively among their peers. We can easily conclude that the only high school class we begin to learn this lesson in is science-psychology.Psychology is where we find the answers to those questions, and those activities that are now in the distant p ast, but at the same time, we learn more, learn things we did not know. We begin to look to other people with another point of view. We no longer desire to conflict with others over minor things, because now we understand that it just does not make sense. For example, I don’t mind if someone sits in my usual chair, like I cared in the middle school. In these years, we are no longer afraid to express our views and defend our rights. We are beginning to recognize the essence and importance of words.Of course, there are those individuals who fail to learn anything from their experiences and their mistakes. I remember from my high school years, I was often involved in different types of conflicts; in most of them, I was not the initiator. For example, teachers do not know who is throwing things and who is receiving them and being a victim. Mostly because of the conflicts, I was excluded from the rest of the class, but it was not just me. In my elementary school years, there was one class that was set up with several separate groups that conflicted with each other.There was once a time when I did not want to get involved in any of these groups, because I wanted to be a friend to everyone, but unfortunately nobody cared, so I was left out by all. I thought if I would be involved in a small group in the class, it would change everything, but nothing particularly changed. When people grow up, they better understand why it is so important to be positive and polite to everybody. Later, the high school class composition changed and no longer had any special assigned classes; of course, it was the same age that clung together more than students of different age groups did.But suddenly there was an ability and understanding about helping each other; we became united. There was a feeling that we were one big family. The reason I give this is teaching-psychology, and we are learning to understand the true nature of the case. Also, our past experiences have taught us. We learned not only from our mistakes, but also from fellow friends’ mistakes. We wanted to be the best, and those who were the best realized the important values that were needed from an early age. We evolved, people improved and were able to capture more of a positive attitude and teach others why it is so important to understand that.My weakness is I still struggle to create such a relationship. I need remove such things as shyness and seclusion from my life. I often worry about the presence of strangers; I do not know what to say and what to do because of the feeling of insecurity. I have concluded that it is because I could not trust people. I sometimes develop a fear that things I say will be told to everybody. I feel this way because there have been many cases where I have just been used. I lost one of my best friends while ago, just because a huge lie from other people and I am still not over it.I'm trying to overcome these shortcomings; I have felt the change, and here, in America, it seems a little bit easier because people seem to be more polite and open; however, I still need to work on that a lot. My strong side is that I can stand by my opinion and argue that it is right. We all learn to stifle our weaknesses and not judge by trying to become understanding towards other people. Times are changing and with it we also change if we see a need to change. To establish a positive relationship with the community, people have to be at peace with themselves and enjoy themselves and others.We should not put too much self-criticism on ourselves and â€Å"drive† self-complexes. We should not think that others are better than ourselves. Many cannot create such a positive relationship, because of self-disparagement or because they think of themselves to be superior to others. It is very good that people make judgments about personalities and how positive and negative you are. For humanity, it is difficult to understand the other fellow human be ings; but, of course, all this is normal. Each way has its â€Å"pros† and â€Å"cons†.
